Hello, I'm Amy!

I provide psychotherapy for women seeking clarity, healing, and personal growth especially in romantic relationships.

About Me

My approach is warm and collaborative, with a focus on helping clients feel grounded, gain insight, and move toward meaningful change. It’s rooted in curiosity, nervous system awareness, and a deep respect for the complexity of human experience.

Sessions are structured but flexible — designed to support deep reflection, emotional regulation, and lasting transformation.

Therapy is both a science and an art, and I honor that by blending theory with depth, clarity, and a touch of humor. My goal is to help clients connect the dots, build resilience, and navigate life with greater intention.

Education & experience

I’ve been in the mental health field for over a decade. I earned my M.A. in Counseling Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) in 2015 and my B.A. in Psychology from San Francisco State University in 2012. I also hold an A.A. in Humanities and the Arts from City College of San Francisco. My clinical background includes work in private practice, community mental health, supportive housing, addiction treatment, and school-based settings. I’ve worked with trauma survivors, adults with executive functioning challenges, and individuals navigating complex relational or identity concerns.

During my undergraduate studies at San Francisco State, I was part of a team that conducted research through the Holistic Health Department, examining how structured self-care projects — including planning, positive thinking, and social support — could promote healing in students. Our study found that when students designed and followed their own wellness plans, many experienced measurable improvements in health outcomes such as smoking cessation, eczema reduction, and stress management. This research continues to inform my approach: I believe each person has the innate capacity to heal when given the tools, space, and support to do so.

Why I Became a Therapist

I became a therapist because I believe in the power of insight, introspection, self-regulation, and the presence of a nonjudgmental other to create real, lasting change. I understand how overwhelming emotions and entrenched patterns can feel — especially when they no longer serve us. Therapy isn’t just a clinical process to me; it’s a deeply human one. My role is to help you find steadiness, deepen self-understanding, and feel empowered to turn your daydreams into actionable plans.

My Approach

My style is warm, collaborative, and down to earth. I use a thoughtful blend of approaches to help you explore patterns from the past, tune into your body’s signals, and connect more fully with your values, needs, and emotions. Together, we’ll slow things down enough to notice what’s really going on — and find new ways to respond that feel more true to who you are.

I don’t approach therapy with a fixed agenda; instead, I collaborate with clients to support their understanding of emotional patterns, nervous system regulation, and the development of greater self-trust. I bring humor and gentle challenge to the work, because while therapy is meant to be helpful, it can also be difficult and uncomfortable — and it’s often in that tension where meaningful growth takes root.

Who I Work With

ADHD and executive functioning challenges

Relationship struggles or attachment wounds

Complex trauma or emotional overwhelm

Anxiety, inner criticism, and experiences of emotional intensity

My ideal client is someone who’s thoughtful, open to reflection, and ready to engage in meaningful inner work — even if they feel unsure or stuck. You don’t need to have it all figured out. You just need to be willing to begin.
